how upvoted works
upvoted is a front page for pump.fun. every post is a live pump.fun coin on Solana mainnet: same bonding curve, same trading, same graduation. two kinds of votes run through it, and they never mix.
visitors vote. one vote per visitor per coin, anonymous, counted by upvoted. they rank the front page and nothing else.
trades vote: buys up, sells down. on coins launched here, the on-chain law reads them to decide where creator fees go. the flair on every post shows it.
01the arrows and the ranking
▲ and ▼ on every post are anonymous votes, one per visitor per coin (click again to take it back). the sorts are reddit's, from the formulas reddit published in its open-source code:
s = ups − downs
hot = sign(s) · log₁₀(max(|s|, 1)) + (t − 1134028003) / 45000
t = the coin's launch time in seconds
top = s
rising = net votes in the last hour
controversial = (ups + downs) ^ (smaller / larger)
new = launch timein hot, ten times the score is worth twelve and a half hours, so among coins launched minutes apart the votes lead and age breaks ties. the most voted coins of the last day stay on everyone's front page, loaded straight from the chain.
votes are opinions, not signals: they can be coordinated or gamed, they never touch the blockchain and they never move a price. upvoted counts at most a few voters per network per coin and limits how fast one network can vote.
02whose creator fees
pump.fun pays a creator fee on every trade to the coin's creator. when the upvoted program is live, a coin launched here sets that creator to a program address, ["creator", mint], so only the program can collect and move those fees; the launcher does not receive them. for every other coin the flair shows a simulation of the same law on its live trades. until the program is live, a launch here is a standard pump.fun launch and you are its creator.
03the market's karma
each crank reads the coin's pump.fun curve. the change in its virtual sol since the last crank is one observation: sol in is an upvote, sol out a downvote. the last 100 observations are split into 10 buckets of 10, aligned to the newest; x is the sol of buys and y the sol of sells in each bucket.
U = Σ x_k upvotes
D = Σ y_k downvotes
s = U − D karma
m = Σ_{newest ⌊K/2⌋} net_k − Σ_{rest} net_k momentum| s > 0, m ≥ 0 | hot | creator fees buy the coin back and burn it |
| s > 0, m < 0 | top | fees wait |
| s < 0, m ≤ 0 | buried | creator fees go to the floor |
| s < 0, m > 0 | rising | fees wait |
| s = 0 | controversial | fees wait |
| fewer than 2 buckets | new | fees wait |
vaults under 0.001 sol wait for the next crank instead of paying for a tiny buyback.
04burn and floor
a burn is an ordinary pump.fun buy made by the program with the collected fees, followed by burning every token it bought. the floor is a program-owned account, ["floor", mint], with no instruction that moves sol out of it: no withdraw, no close, no admin path, no redemption.
floor backing per token = floor reserve ÷ (total supply − burned)
floor backing per token can only rise. it is not a claim, not a promise and not a price support: the price can fall below it, and nobody can withdraw the floor.
05reddit's arithmetic, on chain
with every crank the program also stores the numbers a post page would show, from the same window: the votes V = U + D, the upvote ratio U / V, the balance min(U, D) / max(U, D), and the hot score sign(s)·log₁₀(|s|) with one vote = 0.001 sol, in integer fixed point. they describe the recent past of one market, they do not route anything and they forecast nothing.
06the $DOOT coin
$DOOT is a memecoin. it is not tied to upvoted: it has no use, utility or function on this website, it gives no rights, access, rewards, revenue or say in anything, and it has no link to the votes, the ranking or the fee routing. it can go to zero like any other memecoin.
the program, this site and this page run the same integer arithmetic (the test suite replays the program's own vectors). upvoted is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by reddit or pump.fun. nothing here is advice or a prediction. memecoins are highly speculative and most go to zero. read the risk disclosure.
